Stella Tran graduated in the liberal arts with a BA degree in English from Grinnell College and developed her professional experience in knowledge discovery and new media technology at Yahoo! Inc. She is currently researching the uses of mobile and social media to educate, communicate, and drive shared experiences before she begins her Master’s Program at the Simmons College School of Management in Boston, Massachusetts this fall.
In the past, Stella has championed grant money for Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles-based non-profit and fundraised for the Special Olympics of North Carolina. She also helped to distribute over $1MM in grants annually for dozens of deserving NPOs as a member of the Yahoo! Employee Foundation (YEF) Grants Committee. Finally, Stella spent two years as a volunteer teacher for the Fuqua Partners Language & Culture program at Duke University.
